What is your policy on refunds should I have to cancel or miss a day?

For 1-day workshops, we require a $50 non-refundable deposit.

For multi-day workshops, students are asked to pay in full prior to the event. Given that the group workshops at Book People consist of a small group of students, we are unable to provide a refund once you have claimed a spot nor are we able to prorate fees for any days you are unable to attend. We keep our classes small to provide a high-quality experience, and if we’ve reserved a seat for you, that’s a spot that someone else isn’t able to take. Thus, due to limited space, refunds will not be given.

What is the average age of BreezeATX writers?

BreezeATX is for students interested in having many of their college admissions materials ready prior to their senior year. Thus, the majority of the participants in the workshop will be rising seniors. Rising juniors are welcome.

What is the average class size?

  • 15 students max with 3 instructors; a ratio of 5 to 1 max for the workshop at Book People.

  • Design your own workshop with 4-8 friends is another available option (summer 2020).

  • One-on-one sessions by request.

What should I bring?

Yourself, a laptop, a composition notebook, and something to write with.

Can I bring food/drinks?

Absolutely. Bring a water bottle. There is also a cafe in BookPeople should you want to grab a coffee or additional snacks. Whole Foods is also conveniently located across the street should you want to grab breakfast before the workshop or lunch at the end.

Will snacks and beverages be provided?

Yes, snacks and beverages will be provided, though should you have any dietary restrictions, we encourage you to bring your own snacks.

Where should I park?

BookPeople has a large lot in front of the entrance with ample parking.

What if I’m going to be late?

A heads up via text or call would be helpful. However, even if you let us know you’re going to be late, please know that we won’t be able to wait and will start the writing lesson without you.

Do you have any follow up workshops?

*Stay tuned! BreezeATX may launch further opportunities.

*In the event that a workshop is full, please email us as it is possible that with enough interest, we would be willing to open up an additional workshop.

Can you tell me a little bit more about yourselves and your approach?

Who we are...

  • Mentors who guide you through the writing process toward an error-free, polished college essay, resume, and personal statement.

  • Mentors who offer writing conferences and personal feedback aimed to grow you as a writer by focusing on ideas, style, structure, and mechanics.

What we aren’t…

  • We are not people who write the essay for you. We push you as a writer to do the work in a meaningful and engaging way, but you are at the helm of your writing process.

Our approach…

We believe that writing is a community practice. As a writing workshop, you’ll work with other rising seniors in focused mini-lessons. We’ll generate seed ideas and then grow them into a polished college entrance essay--one you feel proud of, one that reflects your abilities, talents, and stories. Our goal is to make writing your college essays enjoyable and doable so that you can enter your senior year stress-free.
